Open Context: Data Publisher



Welcome to Penelope, the Open Context data publisher. With this service, you can publish your research data in the Open Context and OCHRE systems. You are using the ALPHA version of the service, and we ask for your feedback to improve it! Penelope Data Publisher Version: ALPHA, March 2007 Step 1: Prepare your data Dear Guest, you must be a registered Open Context user to publish with Penelope. Click here to login Since this is still in Alpha testing, you will likely encounter bugs and other issues. Please give us feedback to improve this tool! A feedback form can be reached with a button on the lower right of most screens. The preferred browser is Firefox, but Penelope will (hopefully) work with others as well. You will be asked to create a project, and then upload data tables your project. Once you have successfully uploaded a table, you will be asked to describe it so that it can be used in the Open Context and OCHRE sustems. Make sure that your data tables are as self-explanatory for public viewing as possible. Please replace coded values with easily understood terms. You may upload multiple data tables to any given project, and Penelope will help you guide how the content of your different data tables relates to each other. For the time-being, Penelope requires that all tables be in Microsoft Excel (.xls) format. Penelope will only import the main worksheet from an Excel file, so if you want to import multiple data tables, please save them as seperate files. IMPORTANT NOTE: The names of your fields (columns) must be in the first row of your data table.
